Dear Parents, Children, and Friends of St. Thomas,
I'd like to announce the "Father Philip A. Tracy Scholarships" available to students who are completing their fifth grade year and entering their 6th grade year at St. Thomas. The two $250.00 scholarships have been established to recognize and support students and their families who value a St. Thomas education.
The details of the scholarship are shown below. Please take advantage of this opportunity and apply by early June.
Father Philip A. Tracy Scholarships
Amount: Two - $250.00 Scholarships
Scope: These two scholarships are established to recognize and support students and their families who value a St. Thomas education. They will be awarded to two students who are completing their fifth grade year and applied to their tuition balance in October of their sixth grade year. These scholarships are not needs based nor merit based. The scholarship money will be given in addition to any financial assistance a family may have requested.
Eligibility: The scholarships are available to students of any faith. The one requirement is that a student will have completed a minimum of two years at St. Thomas School by the end of their fifth grade year and will be returning for sixth grade.
Requirements: The application process will consist of two essays. The student is asked to respond in two to three paragraphs to the question: "What do I hope to experience during my sixth grade year that will prepare me for my life after St. Thomas School?" A parent or guardian is asked to respond in a page or two to the questions: "How has your experience at St. Thomas supported your efforts as a parent/guardian?" "What are your expectations for your child's sixth grade year?"
Deadline: Both essays will be due in a sealed envelope in the school office in early June. Fr. Phil, Mrs. McCann and a non-parent member of the St. Thomas School Board will review the applications and determine the recipients.
